hey sam and john mcready. been slacking back on the home front. hey my wife and i along with 2 other couples recently did a 6 day 5 night trip on the eclipse. we live out here on saipan so being in the big blue is no new thing. we dive alot and the water where we live is a good 250 of clear viz. BUT WHOA BOY, Palau on a comfy sailboat is THE BOMB!! i can't say enough about the whole trip. we got picked up at the airport by john himself, with beer! we got over to sam's and proceeded to down tasty local suds from the rooster brewery, totally rad. the trip was truly awesome. john is a veritable library of sea experience. he is the consumate gentleman sailor, host. dong a good 6 to 7 knots under full sail as we proceed, the silence of the sea, man you'r skin just tingles. our dives were out of this world literally. diving in micronesia you get used to clarity and lots of life, but well palau is simply the shit man,can i say that. what made it all so unique was the livin on the boat. no long runs out to the reef. no smell of gas or loud buzz of the outboard. sunrises, and sunsets. we caught fish and ate like kings, we had fressh sashimi, blackend sahsimi, grilled skipjack! we kayaked everywhere during down times when we were filling tanks, when we got tired of diving or just to explore. we had one guy who fished like all the time a real fanatic, catch and release. he had the ultimate time stealth fishing from hsi kayak. creping along quietly we would visit deserted little rock islands and man the clarity of the water rivaled even our own uninhabited isands of the marianas. if you are looking for teh ultimate, customized experience that combines palau, diving, and getting away from the crowds, you gotta talk to john and sam and get on teh eclipse, there is nohting like it in the micronesian archipeligo! we will be back john, next time to the helen reef system!! thanks for the memories, and the red rooster! jim and colleen

I had a chance to do 5 dives (incl. one night dive) on November 21/22, 1999 and I enjoyed it all tremendously. The diving itself is, no doubt, world class but also the organisation of the trips was outstanding, starting with Russelle in the office and Lee and Ron as our guides who are both committed and very much "into it", with indepth knowledge of both the marine environment and the history of Palau. Definitely to be repeated. Equally enjoyeable was the whole-day Kayak excursion on the last day. Although these activities are not bargain priced, it is value for money. I'll be back! Alii, I was browsing the net looking for pictures of corals for my thesis on cloning. Since I had a business cloning corals in Palau, I was hoping I'd find exotic pictures on your website. But I was very disappointed. Would it be possible to display them on your site? It is also a sound incentive for many potential customers to come to Palau, seeing the pictures come to life is an excellent way to get their attention. Adang mekerang?! :) Sulang! Kyoko

We have just returned from our third tour of the Palau islands in ten years. Always an excellent vacation, this one has been by far the best, in large measure due to the professionalism, efficiency and commitment of the folks at Sam's. The scenery, above and below water, needs no description and in any event words do not do it justice. However, the experience of Palau is augmented by the expertise and knowledge of Sam's staff, and their outstanding diving, kayaking and Rock Island tours. Our thanks go to Dermot, Colleen, Adela and Roz for their smooth organization and guidance, including recommendations of accommodation and itineries. Special thanks go to Jonas, a dive guide who really knows his stuff and who can hold a conversation on non-diving issues - a rare breed. It's fair to say the operation carried out by all at Sam's is synonymous with getting the most out of a spell in Palau, so good luck to everyone there for the future. Keep up the good work.

We just got back from Palau Island and had such an amazing time. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th year wedding anniversary there and fulfilling a childhood fantasy of mine come true being that my last name is Palau. I've always been interested in Palau Island since I was a little girl when my mother would show me on an old map this little island we my name on it, I thought to myself then, one day I will go there and at last I did and loved every moment of it. I had the best time than I could ever imagine it would be. Diving and Snorkeling with Sam's Dive Tours was an increadible experience. Jonas is an excellent dive instructor and tour guide, and Trudy took our breaths away kayaking through the Rock Islands, and Kevin made our last dive real special as he catched a chambered nautilus and had us all pose and take pictures with it. Thank you all for making our 10th year wedding anniversary so special and for making my dream come true. We will definately come back to Palau and of course will use no one else but Sam's Dive Tours.

We just returned from our first dive trip to Palau although we've been to Palau numerous other times. It was a pleasure to dive with the professional staff at Sam's. Jonas was great--he exhibited all of the characteristics that a great dive guide should have--knowledge, understanding and a bit of charisma. Trudy made our kayaking day thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back and wouldn't dive or kayak with any other company but Sam's Tours. Thanks again for a great experience.

There were seven of us, and we can't stop talking about how fantastic it was and how Poker was the absolute best ever. When Mike got a tatoo from a friend of Poker's, I knew we were all comming back someday, if just to see Scott,('Snake Charmer'),play with sea snakes again. Well, this year,Oct.'99,we have talked six more people into a trip to Indonesia. We are are thinking ahead to 2000,... a month in Palau! Jonas and Poker. I hope you get this. I don't have e-mail yet so we'll see if this works. I may be seeing you again soon. I'm transfering to Islamabad, Pakistan, and figure I'll be coming your way for diving and kayaking (had a great time with Ron - one day only - doubt if he'll remember). Anyway, I heard Frederika was out there last winter. Is she still there? I'll get her a new hat if I can track her down. Also, I'll hook up with you guys when I get settled in Pakistan (September). I know Chris would love to come back too, but I can't wait for her. I'll bring someone else Poker will like. See ya soon.

Hey Ron, Jonas, Hans, Fern and all you other diving friends of mine. I haven't had an opportunity to dive since I moved away from Palau, so you can imagine how much I miss being there and having the opportunity to dive or kayak with y'all every weekend. You were just getting this website set up before I left there but I just now decided to visit it. Ron, it appears as if the kayak business is still going great for you and I'm glad to see that. Just as a fair warning, my parents will be returning for a visit to Palau next year and I can gurantee they will be by for at least one day of diving. Hope everything is going well for you guys and I would like to hear from you if you have the time to drop me a line. Jeff Weeks

This is the first time I've visited this site since getting my computer, but my mother, sister and I visited Palau and Sam's and took a boat tour to the Rock Islands on a Sam's boat in about 1997, I think. I was recovering from chemotherapy and was bald. My sister, Susan, worked for Continental Micronesia at the time, Continental USA in Houston now, and mother, Inez, is retired. We had a wonderful time and got many great pictures. Much love to you, your staff and little girl. One of my fondest memories is of your daughter sitting on the dock or somewhere, holding her kitten and having the kitty "wave" to us! I took a picture, but I was far off.

We have just returned from our first trip to Palau. While there, we dove with Sams Dive Tours and are glad we did. During our 10 day stay we took one day off from diving to sight see and scout out different hotels and dive companies but now wish that we had chosen to dive that day also. Our trip was all that we had hoped for and more.
While there we did several Specialty Courses and one of us upgraded to Advanced, all of which was well conducted and done on some of the best dive sites in the world. Matt Young took good care of us on all our dives, held thorough and concise training sessions, and conducted the dives professionally but in a way that all had a great time and got their moneys worth. His ability to make fresh, enjoyable, detailed and enthusiastic briefings (even though he has done them hundreds of times) is a unique talent. Matts true love of the ocean and its eco-systems is truly contagious and enhances your adventures. We will always dive only with Sams for several reasons: Good comprehensive dive briefs before each and every dive, their commitment to the ecology, the consideration shown to all divers and concern for your safety. We have already booked our next visit in September and cant wait. We recommend that you consider visiting Kevin Davidson at the Photo Shop and have some of your dives video taped. You will certainly be happy that you did and have a professional quality souvenir that you will enjoy over and over and over. Hope to see you there.

Hello guys. Last February I did my second trip tp Palu. This island is a diver dream: sharks, turtles, barracudas, small critters, tunnels, Blue holes, vertical walls, soft and hard corals, good vis and colors. Chandelier Cave and New Drop-off are not to be missed. Peleliu wall is the best wall dive I've ever done. Blue Corner is out of this world, truly one of the world's best dive sites. And Sam's Dive Tours is is very well organized, very good briefings and great ambiance, the best dive operator I have been diving with in my 9 years of scuba. Hey, Fernando, thanks for yor guidance, but shame on me:! I didn't see that cuttlefish at Ngedbus Coiral Gardens! Scott, you are wright when you say "In Peleliu the first rule is: stay with the guide". Jonas, do you remember those sharks in Blue Corner? My shots were great! Thanks to Dermond, Mam, Kevin and everybody at dive shop. God bless you all. A Brazilian friend......LUIZ.

Its been 3 years since the last time i was at sams dive tours. A vacation of a life time. If you love a awsome dive with some of the finest staff, then you went to the right place. i have an under water vidio jessica taped while our group was there. the tape is priceless. she captured all of us in water with a 150 feet visibility, lots of life, and action. She edited it with music. Truely a pro. job. I got to get back, besides sex, thats all i think about! Scott

Hey kids: I was in Palau in December 1998 & January 1999 diving with Sam's. It was the best diving experience of my life. I was only suppose to be there for 10 days, it turned into a month When I got back to work I think they called it "Job Abandonment". I just couldn't stop diving everyday with Scott T or Jeff C, two of the best dive guides. Scott give the sharks at Blue Corner a big kiss for me & thanks for turning me onto beetle-nut, but I don't think it would go over to well in the city. Ron & Trudi's kayaking tours are incredible & the video I got from Kevin was truly amazing. Sam's is a top shelf dive shop and the people there really care about their clients. They truly go out of their way for the customers. I just got back and I'm already planning my return to that Rock Island. Louisa
