Sam's Tours, a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center, offers PADI's complete line of courses from Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water and various Specialty Courses through to--now, in July 2015--Open Water Scuba Instructor level certification!
All courses at Sam's Tours include materials, professional instructor, use of dive gear, hotels transfers within Koror, lunch and refreshments. The theoretical portion of the course is conducted at our newly renovated Training Center. And if you don’t want to spend your vacation reading books and watching videos, check out PADI e-learning option, offering you the opportunity to start with the theory online prior to your vacation, and complete your certification with Sam's Tours while in Palau!
Following are some of the most popular courses we offer:
The use of Nitrox up to 32% is free at Sam's Tours (with a proof of certification), so no wonder plenty of air divers choose to convert to a safer option, Nitrox!
Due to the higher percentage of oxygen, and lower percentage of nitrogen, the benefits of Nitrox include longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, longer repetitive dive time, reduced exhaustion and overall increased safety and comfort.
The air we breathe contains approximately 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. Enriched Air (EANx), also known as Nitrox, has a higher proportion of oxygen, and lower proportion of nitrogen. The reduced level of nitrogen offers divers the benefit of lowering nitrogen build-up--a natural result of diving--especially when diving consecutive days. As a result, Nitrox is fast becoming the breathing gas of choice for recreational divers, especially when conducting repetitive dives.
Sam's Tours was the first dive center in Palau to offer Nitrox in 1997, and today, we proudly offer divers the added comfort and safety of diving with Nitrox up to 32% for FREE!
The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course is relatively short: a theory-only course, which can be conducted in a couple of hours one afternoon after diving. So why wait? Sign up for the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course on your first day of diving and begin enjoying the benefits of Nitrox for the rest of your dive vacation!
Note: Divers must be over 15 years of age and Open Water Diver Certified to take the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course.>> Back to top
Authored by Marine Biologist, Ron Leidich, the Blue Corner Specialty Course is exclusive to Sam's Tours!
Palau's Blue Corner is one of the world's most famous dive sites where sharks, barracuda, snappers, jacks, eagle rays, turtles, wrasse, and much, much more can be seen while drifting in the brisk current or hovering over a drop-off like a kite using a reef hook.
The course consists of approximately two hours of informative lecture about the geology, aquatic life, negotiation of currents, food chains, primary and secondary predators, inter-species interactions, and corals, and two dives in Blue Corner, incorporated into one or two dive days in your dive package, booked separately from the course.
After taking the PADI Blue Corner Specialty course at Sam's Tours, you will know all the natural components that make Blue Corner such a phenomenal dive!>> Back to top
Ever wonder what diving is all about? Are you curious about the underwater world but aren't sure it's for you? Discover Scuba Diving is exactly for you!
This course allows a non-certified diver to make either one dive or two dives accompanied by a PADI instructor. Dives are performed from our dock at a maximum depth of 40 feet/12 meters. The course includes an orientation meeting with a PADI instructor covering the most basic elements of scuba diving, followed by one or two dives, depending on you.
If you realize diving is just for you and would like to become a certified diver, the Discover Scuba Diving experience will count toward your Open Water Diver certification! And... we will give you a credit towards your Open Water Diver certification if you complete both courses with us!>> Back to top
Become a certified diver with PADI Open Water Diver course, which teaches you the fundamentals of scuba diving. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized, allowing divers to scuba dive, as well as rent scuba equipment and tanks worldwide.
The course lasts between 3 and 4 days, depending on the student's comfort level in the water. The course consists of a theoretical portion, conducted using the PADI Open Water Diver manual, videos, and in-person teaching by a PADI instructor; the course also includes confined water sessions, to review scuba skills and four open water dives, putting the theory and skills into practice!
Students must be in good health to take the Open Water Diver course and are required to complete a medical questionnaire. We recommend that students visit their doctor at home, complete the medical questionnaire, and obtain medical approval before registering for the course.>> Back to top
Students who have completed part of the training for the PADI Open Water Diver course at another PADI facility may complete the remaining components of the course at Sam's Tours. Students must present their PADI Student Record Form from the referral facility for reservations. The duration and pricing of completing the rest of the Open Water Diver course with Sam's Tours depends on the number of components required for certification. Please contact us for more information.>> Back to top

The third tier in your dive training after Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses, the goal of the PADI Rescue Diver course is to teach divers to render Emergency First Response and diver rescue.
